Always a wonderful time at the Boulder Site at Canyon Lake! Great views, clean beach & wonderful memories. The drive up is gorgeous too! Get your parking pass before you get there so you can snag a parking spot quicker!
Love this place been here a bunch of times since moving recently took the wife there and we loved it spent the whole day up there a lot to see you can take the boat ride the steamboat which is actually pretty cool and a lot to do and go swimming right off the edge of the Rocks there there's a place to go near the water you can launch a boat off there it's definitely a good time very busy on the weekends in the summer
I guess I’m use to cleaner lakes. This one’s pretty dirty especially if you paddle into the narrow coves. I see dead fishes floating around. But has fun kayaking around and there’s a nice hiking trail
The lake is great. The clueless morons that come here not so much. Especially when your boat trailer gets plowed into by some random vehicle causing damage and no note was even left. It warms my heart to know their vehicle had a lot more damage than ours did. Their entire rear light was left under our trailer. My guess is that they were intoxicated and chose to try and drive home.
So it’s a pretty lake. It draws lots of non boat people to the beach areas. Those people are not always the cleanest or careful. Many trash the beaches and park wherever they want taking up valuable boat parking. Usually the rangers are all over that but not always.
Moral of the story.. visit Monday to Friday and avoid weekends.
Had so much fun and saw some absolutely gorgeous scenery! Went in early May and got there pretty early and had a little cove to ourselves for awhile! By the time we returned to the shore, the place was swamped. If you’re not trying to see a bunch of people, I’d pick somewhere else
This is our favorite lake to go kayaking. Great views, great spots to kayak without worrying about larger boats around. We enjoy bringing a picnic lunch with us and then spending the day enjoying the sunshine.
Paddle boarding, kayaking, tubing, swimming, sunbathing, cruising (my favorites).....PLEASE TAKE OUT WHAT YOU BRING IN. This is a beautiful space. Let's keep it that way. Take your trash home with you. It's so peaceful and serene, I come here to escape and reconnect with my higher power.
Beautiful spot. You will need recreational pass to use the parking space at the lake. Pass can be bought from nearby store. It’s a good location for water activities or family outing. I wish I owned a small boat to chill here 😂. Drive to the lake is also nice. There are few cool spots/view point to enjoy the sunset. Weekend special spot and there are multiple recreational areas near the lake. One spot is especially for fishing. It’s a good spot for professional photoshoot with natural lighting and view.
